First Anniversary, Still no Australian release date
One year on from the US release of the Microsoft Zune and there is still no confirmed release date for the audio player in Australia. Microsoft are trying hard to prevent importing of the device but unless they release some details soon this option seems like the best one, at least for the time being.
So many dates have now been touted as a potential release date that there is no way to even tell when we might expect the player. Originally it was expected early 2007, now 2008 seems more feasable. Even 2010 has been quoted in some reports. We can only hope we get it here before then!

Anyone know if these can work properly (recieve undates, software downloads etc) in Aus without being able to gain access to the official Zune sites ( as we are blocked out)?
Thanks

As far as I am aware there is still very limited support for the Zune in Australia, but with a 2008 release now set the future looks promising.

Well, I have phoned MS several times about our Australian release. They said it WILL release it here. But they didnt tell a date though.
Lets hope we get a surprise zune 3 launch.
I’ve been waiting, dreaming and begging for an australian zune release. But it’ll nice to see it on our shelves sooner rather than later.
I guess the only thing we can do is import.
